The moon must have changed because kids are
dropping on the ground again. Lollipop had a doe
kid and Louisiana has a buck on the 11th. To our
suprise Tootsie Pop had triplets.(2 Does and a
Buck). We are very excited since this is our
first triplets. Check back for photos of our new
additions as we will be adding them soon. We will
be listing a few other kids when they arrive.
Hope to here from some of you soon.

Heidi and Hannah

Well Folks, we now have our Great Pyrenees
puppies. They are in the goat yard and bonding
very well at this point. The girls were born on
17 January 08. We name them Heidi and Hannah.
Check out our page on Great Pyrenees as we learn
all we can about the breed. If you have any
suggestions about LGDs please forward the
information to us. We are always thankful for
information we receive from fellow goat-herders.

We feed Science Diet Dog food as we agree with
our vet, they need a healthy start in life if they
are to advance as working dogs.

Check back with us for an update of their
progress. We will be posting often about them and
will post photos as they age. Ta, Ta, for now, De

Kidding Season!

For starters we are well on our way breeding our
herd up. Kids are jumping around everywhere! We
are now thinking about buying the livestock dogs
we need. At this point I think we are going to
drive to Louisiana to purchase two female Great
Pyrenees pups. We met some nice people over the
web that have them. Check out their website at
www.lazypboers.com You might find something you
like. Check back with us later for an update. De

Never Ending Work!

Well, the does are looking like they are going to
kid soon. We should see most of the new additions
between the middle of January and first of
February. If you are out there Barbara King, WE
COULD USE YOUR HELP! LOL For anyone who doesn't
know Barbara, she moved away to California and is
not here to help out with kidding season. (She
wanted to but she met a nice young man and
married). HI MARK! I guess that is reason enough
to leave and not help! lol That's ok, she can
help out when she visits. All the best to all the
goat people in the world. Stop in and see us
sometime. Ta ta for now, De

Once again.....

Once again, there are babies everywhere, and a
lot more coming. My favorite is DJR1 Diputs
Asearet, because of her spots and she is named
after me! But also there is DJR1 Annabel Lee that
has surprised us all. I hope that we will have
some more goats for sale as the year goes by.
DJR1 Troy is one sweet buck. Though his ears are
flipped, he will still be a great buck for anyone
wanting color in their herd. LLBG Texas has done
a wonderful job this year of all his kids. We are
still waiting to see Paul's kids, but they are
coming soon! Once again... I must go.-Rae

New Arrivals!

Well, Miss Mary had her baby. A Bouncing baby Boy
named Troy. Currently we are busy with all the
kids dropping on the ground. We now have 7 Does
and 4 Bucks. We have been lucky so far, we've
only lost one. This year is starting out very
very hectic. Cousin Bo and I have been recording
all the information on his goats and ours. We
hope to see a few more arrivals tonight on his
end. Good Luck Bo!

Goats! Goats! Goats!

Well I thought I would give an update on our
goats. All is well, as we have monitored them
very close. An ultrasound on Miss Mary has us
excited. Everything seems to be normal. We
should have kids on the ground in November,
December, and January. All the best, De

The Builder!

As mentioned by Debra, I am the one that gets the
easy jobs. (They think that's funny). When it
comes right down to it, I love working with the
goats. (Debra, the old goat and Rae the young
goat, also included. If you'll notice I am the one
who favors the black head boers. Hopefully, I
will see several of those this year. If you have
any questions or need suggestions about building
kidding pens, lots, etc. just leave a comment and
I'll respond as soon as possible. Goodbye, Joe

I'm really excited about the upcoming kidding season!

Like Rae, it has been a while but that's because
we are just now to the point that we will have
many goats for sale. We should see kids dropping
on the ground in November and January. I'm really
excited! That's my favorite part of the goat
business. Drop us a line if your interested in
buying a few kids. It has truly been a hard
working, long but rewarding year on the farm.
Poor Joe just cannot find enough hours in the day
to build barns, pens, lots and not to mention do
all of our hoof trimming and hay gathering! (Rae
and I leave the easy stuff for him). Ha! By the
way, we bought a nice buck to add to our herd.
His Grand Sire is Freightrain and we are looking
forward to seeing his kids. Guess I'll be in
touch with more news later. Ta Ta, De

It's Me, Rae!

It has been a while since I typed in a blog.
If you take a look at our photos you will see
that we got COLOR!!! This year I did not show a
black goat at the state fair like I wanted. I did
take some beautiful show wethers that I bought
from Paul Keith. I must also thank Isaac for
saleing Snip for me. ($6.00 a pound!!!) Everybody
showing from Mercer Co. did great at the WV State
Fair. I must also thank Cocoa Swirl and Tex for
producing the next main herd sire, DJR1 Nixon!!
At the Mercer Co. Fair he placed Reserve Grand
Champion Buck at 2 MONTHS OLD!! Nixon weighed 35
lbs. when I showed him, and I cannot wait until
he is old enough to breed some does to him. I
hope that we will have some kids or does to sale
(considering that we have 23 bred does).
Well, I'll type again sooner or later-Rae
